Need plasma, particle and smoke effect

Postby buffalo » Sat Jun 03, 2017 1:05 pm

C++ games are really beatifull with all their special effects, i now python is much more slower with less graphical tools but may be it is possible
to make a kind of easy to use API wich would use numpy, or cython chunks, or C calls on already made libraries with cffi or ctypes to make it possible ?

Hello,

I don't know what existing python frameworks allow to do using GPU. However, the SDL, and so Pygame, are in my sense clearly not intended to use for coding 3D games. Moreover, the purpose of ThorPy is first of all to provide a GUI library to use with pygame, and also a little bit of graphical features for 2D video games. So I'm affraid that it will never include features such as those you describe.

However, ThorPy already allows to easily generate realistic shadows ( http://www.thorpy.org/examples/shadows.html ), smoke and explosions/debris ( http://www.thorpy.org/examples/fx.html ).
